Windows automatically saves the copies of your files & folders as part of a restore point. You can call these copies as Shadow Copies of your original data. Now, let me demonstrate you the restoring process by opening this folder called Pictures & deleting a couple of files from it. I will now delete these files from Recycle bin too. This process of restoring data is having its own drawback - you need to remember the folder name & hard drive partition from which files are lost. So, once you got the folder name, right-click on it. Here, click on Restore Previous Version option available in the list. Here, you will find a list of copies of selected folder, saved at regular interval of time by Windows. From this list, check the date of these copies & select the required one. Now, you can either use Copy option to save it at a different location on your hard drive or Restore option to update at its original location. For my satisfaction, I will now open the saved folder to check whether files are recovered or not. There we are. You can see the deleted files in the restored folder. So, in this way, you can easily get back your deleted/lost files on Windows PC.
