Fix A required cd-dvd drive device driver is missing Installing Windows 7 via a Flash USB drive is the fastest way to install Windows OS. But with modern hardware changes, Windows 7 does not come with the correct drivers to install from a USB pen drive. You can still install Windows 7 from a CD-Rom drive, but a lot of modern computers don't come with a DVD-Rom Drive, so when you try and install from a USB using USB 3.0 you will run into this error. "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" this will pop up during the installation like I show in the video. What the error message is saying is the problem was caused by missing drivers. So to find a solution to fix this problem, I have listed some links below with the motherboard manufacturer tools that will slipstream the USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 chipset drivers into the Windows 7 install USB. When trying to install Windows 7 computers with modern motherboards like z170 and z270 and computer cases supporting USB 3.0 and 3.1 None of these drivers are in the install.win or boot.wim files, So it can't recognize what your installing from. By slipstreaming or integrating these drivers into the Windows 7 ISO or USB installer, you will be have no issue when installing Windows. MSI, ASUS, ASROCK and GIGABYTE all have tools that you can download for free to install these drivers in Windows 7 Boot.win and Install.wim.
